Rand Construction has built a reputation on our high-quality approach to doing business. A number of our clients have been with us for more than 17 years, and many have been with us for as long as 26 years. We truly appreciate their continued support and ongoing business relationships.

Experience You Can Count On

At Rand, we believe that accuracy and efficiency are as important to the construction project as safety and technology. We spend extra time, before the project even begins, researching the requirements for the job. Our project managers use their expertise and customized, state-of-the-art software to provide you with the most accurate estimate upfront, preventing later changes that would drive up the cost of the project. One of our strengths is our growing staff of high-caliber people. In an industry with low employee retention rates, few have been able to maintain a core team that grows more efficient and accurate with each project.

Today, we are investing in the future by hiring the most innovative people in the industry to train alongside our senior staff, increasing our core strength. Whether your project is small or large, our staff of over 90 permanent employees - in a wide variety of specialties - can meet your needs.

An Ethical Approach

With Rand, you will get direct, honest, personalized communication from your project manager regarding every aspect of your project.

An important part of our reputation for integrity is our high level of communication. Every one of our projects has a dedicated project manager that is available to answer your questions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That project manager treats your project with the same care and attention as they would put into the building of their own home.

History, Organization and Capabilities

Rand Construction Company has been in business since 1962 when the late Earl Rand Sr. started Rand & Son Mechanical. Daniel Hinrichs, the current owner, joined Rand Construction Company in 2006 after a long history of successful construction experience and subsequently purchased the company. Rand has the unique advantage of being a mid-sized, highly diversified sole proprietorship. Unlike many of our competitors, our organization is clear and we have a president who is our owner and is accessible for client needs.

Rand Construction offers a full range of construction services today. We started as a mechanical contractor specializing in industrial piping. Over the years, the company has expanded our work areas to include General Contracting, Millwright, Ironwork, Boilermaker, Plumbing & HVAC Service, and Commercial and Institutional Piping.

Rand has successfully served client’s needs ranging from small projects to a number of projects in excess of $10 MM. Rand’s current bonding capacity for individual contracts is in excess of $50,000,000.00 with a total capacity of $100,000,000.00.

Our offices, shops and warehouses are located on a 3.5-acre tract in the heart of downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The 9,200 square foot office complex houses Project Managers/Estimators, a Quality Control Manager, a Safety Director, an Office and Human Resources Manager, Accounting and Administrative staff. Rand has two warehouse buildings with over 28,000 square feet of storage space. Our state-of-the-art piping fabrication shop has 8,500 square feet and includes seven multi-functional welding stations with four large jib cranes to move pipe from the delivery truck to the workstation. Rand Construction Company is fully ASME Certified, ASHE Certified and our plumbers are medical gas certified.

Rand has the experience and staff to manage concurrent, geographically separated construction projects. We have completed projects or have ongoing projects in Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska, Guam, Cuba and 20 other states within the continental United States. Many of these projects were under Rand’s active management at the same time.
