Details:

Rand performed all mechanical work on this project, which was a school for the trades. The school consists of a North Building and a South Building with a bridge between the two. CTE has an HVAC Residential Lab, an HVAC Sheet Metal Lab, a Plumbing Lab as well as classrooms in the North Building. The South Building of CTE has an Automotive Garage and an Engine Overhaul Lab, as well as some classrooms. The CTE project includes significant plumbing piping, chilled water & heating hot water piping, as well as a compressed air. The mechanical rooms consist of 4 AHU’s, Fan Coil Units, Mini-Split Units, Fin Tube Heaters, Boilers, Pumps, Unit Heaters and a working teaching roof top unit (RTU) that is located in the work yard.

Unique Features/Challenges:

All piping and ductwork is exposed and color coordinated for easy identification and teaching purposes. This project demanded excellent craftsmanship and quality, as well as coordination between the trades during construction, since it is intended to serve as an example of “what to do” for students and future craftsmen in the trades.
