HCA College Park Endoscopy

This project consisted of the interior renovation of an existing 9,295 square foot Advanced Surgical Care Unit at the Corporate Medical Plaza III in Overland Park, Kansas. Rand Construction Company performed the complete renovation of the Mechanical and Plumbing systems, as well as the addition of Medical Gas systems. Rand’s scope of work included Temperature Control upgrades, Mechanical and Plumbing Installation, startup/checkout and final Balancing. Our services also included the installation of a new outdoor energy efficient condensing unit tied back in to the existing Air Handling Unit (AHU).

The challenges associated with this project were that the entire existing space was served by the existing AHU. Because of the common use of this equipment, the space renovation had to be closely monitored to avoid adversely affecting overall space conditions both upstream and downstream. In addition, Rand scheduled the condensing unit replacement during the wintertime when cooling loads were minimized. This work was performed without disruption to adjacent tenant spaces on both the first floor and the upper floors, which were all in operation, provided patient care.
