Manufacturing Facilities
Rand has extensive experience in the installation of utility piping systems, process piping systems and associated equipment. Our work has ranged from repairs and modifications of existing systems to the installation of complete new chemical process units. Our piping material of construction expertise ranges from carbon steel, stainless steel, and exotic alloys such as Inconel and Alloy 20, to fiberglass- reinforced plastic, TFE and glass lined pipe. The size of the piping has ranged from 1/2" to 96" in diameter, with pressure ratings from 150 PSI to 6,000 PSI. Many of our projects in manufacturing facilities have involved the installation of major equipment such as tanks, reactors, columns, conveyors, packaging and filling systems, pumps, centrifuges, and dryers.
Rand has successfully performed upgrades to central utility systems for a wide variety of clients. These upgrades involve both piping and a variety of utility equipment intended to improve the efficiency and reliability of the utility systems. The replacement of outdated equipment and systems has become a very important part of Rand’s work due to technology advances, the high cost of energy, and the high cost of maintaining operations. Owners turn to Rand to benefit from our expertise and experience in this area. Our work has ranged from replacing heat exchangers to the design-build of a complete central steam facility. Rand’s design-build projects for these facilities include the furnishing of all design drawings, installation of foundations, precast walls, roofing, piping, boilers, chillers, wiring, and ancillary equipment.
